DIAGNOSTIC IMAGING FAQS
Things you need to know.
- We are committed to providing the best care for your pet.
- We are a referral only hospital therefore your pet will require a referral to access our services.
- Results from any imaging tests performed will be communicated with your regular vets as they are responsible for the overall management of your pet’s condition.
I've been referred for an outpatient imaging service, what does this mean?
Referral for an outpatient imaging service means that your vet has referred your pet to us for a specific imaging procedure only. Your vet will continue to remain the clinician in charge of managing your pet’s condition. All communication regarding the procedure performed will be directly with your veterinarian.
What should I bring with me?
- If your animal is insured, please bring the necessary documentation and a claim form to your appointment.
- Please check with your regular vet if you are required to bring in referral history or radiographs with you or if they will forward these onto us directly.
- Obviously bring your pet! Also please ensure your pet has been fasted overnight (may have access to water) in preparation for imaging procedures to be performed on the day.
What can I expect?
Depending on the imaging procedure, your pet may either be admitted to the hospital and discharged later in the day or you may wait until the procedure is completed. Following completion of the procedure, a report will be sent to your regular vet. You will need to discuss the results further with your veterinarian.
