Dr Amelia Ho
Dermatology Resident
Dr Amelia graduated from Murdoch University in 2019 with a keen interest in veterinary dermatology. She spent two years in a busy general practice in Singapore and recognized the need for better dermatological care for animals. In 2022, she successfully applied for a veterinary dermatology internship with Dr Meng. After an intensive 12months internship, she accepted a residency program to pursue her ambition of becoming a veterinary dermatologist. Amelia is very knowledgeable and hardworking, and we are pleased to have her as part of the dermatology team.
Away from the clinic, Amelia has volunteered extensively with wildlife across the globe and completed numerous zoological internships. She has also helped to coordinate rabies control programs in neighbouring ASEAN countries.
In her free time, Amelia would be out on adventures with her active Border Collie, inline skating or looking for good coffee with an autobiography in hand.

Dr Meng Siak
Dermatology Specialist
BVMS, MANZCVS (Canine Medicine), FANZCVS (Veterinary Dermatology)
Meng graduated from Murdoch Veterinary School in 2006. He spent one year in private practice before returning to Perth to pursue his dream of becoming a veterinary dermatologist. From 2008 to 2014, Meng worked in two busy referral dermatology clinics, initially as an intern, then resident in veterinary dermatology. In 2014, he passed examinations to become a specialist veterinary dermatologist with the Australian and New Zealand College of Veterinary Scientists (ANZCVS).
In the WAVES dermatology clinic, Meng acts as a consultant for your pets’ skin and ear diseases and performs diagnostic procedures including allergy testing, video-otoscopy examinations and flushes, and collection of skin and ear biopsies. Meng has special interests in antibiotic resistant bacterial skin and ear infections including methicillin resistant Staphylococcus pseudintermedius (MRSP)-the dog equivalent of MRSA in people. He published the first paper on MRSP infections affecting dogs in Australia and continues to update himself on new treatment options. Other interests include management of allergic and immune mediated skin diseases.
Outside work, Meng is a keen advocate for continued education and is the Oceania/Asia representative for Global Veterinary Dermatology Education Group (GVDEG), a non-profit charitable organisation that offers continued education in underserved countries. Meng and his Wife (also a veterinarian) enjoys exploring the world together and spending time with their two cats (Kylie, a tortoiseshell and Remy, a Burmese). Meng is a sports fanatic and supports Spurs (COYS!) and Dockers (Go Freo!).
