Outpatient Imaging Services

The WAVES outpatient imaging service allows primary care veterinarians to gain access to advanced imaging modalities to facilitate a diagnosis and direct treatment options whilst still retaining control of the patient’s medical care. Animals can be referred directly to the diagnostic imaging service on an appointment basis. Comprehensive reports are e-mailed to the referring veterinarian within one working day. The WAVES outpatient imaging service is for clinically stable patients only. All images acquired are available in digital format allowing optimal visibility of pathology as well as permitting central storage of images on a picture archiving and communication system (PACS) and easy sharing with other professionals and clients.

Outpatient Imaging Appointment

Prior to making an appointment, please ensure you have a referral available from your veterinarian. Your veterinarian is responsible for selecting the appropriate form of imaging or scan required. Similar to human medical imaging services, there is no consultation involved in this service or advice on treatment provided. Results from the scans will be provided to your veterinarian.

If consultation and examination of the patient or a second opinion is required, please discuss referral to one of the other specialities in the hospital with your veterinarian.
